Meet Dr. Richard Jelusich, thought leader, intuitive counselor, energy medicine practitioner, teacher/professor with active practice in subtle energy medicine/energy psychology and spiritual counseling.
The founder of Light News Institute since 1992, Dr. Jelusich has been practicing and researching the field of subtle energy (the human biofield and the chakras) for more than 30 years.
He created his renowned Integrative Chakra Therapy® program (ICT); an almost 3-year program in energy medicine/energy psychology for healer practitioners based on his theory of dominant chakras. Dr Jelusich has taught ICT for over 26 years with over 500 students and graduates in USA, Canada and around the world.
As an internationally known lecturer, he has traveled for over 30 yrs throughout the Americas, Europe and Japan speaking on the fundamentals of spiritual self-empowerment, spiritual awareness and counseling/healing. He has been an ordained minister for over 35 years. His offerings include events, lectures, and workshops on the knowledge of chakras, past lives, spiritual development, and self-empowerment.
He worked over 10 years for his father, who owned a shipyard in San Diego and became machine shop foreman (his longest lathe was 24 feet!). He ran the crane, the tugboat and the winches that hauled the 350 ton boats out of the water. This was a lot of practical experience.
Dr. Jelusich went on to the aerospace industry, where he became a certified manufacturing engineer, tool engineer and program manager. He worked on many programs, from aircraft design and manufacture to space launch vehicles. This culminated in his having final assembly responsibility for space launch vehicles and he has been to Cape Canaveral several times.
For a time, he owned a digital imaging business, a frame shop and art gallery.
He has taken more than 13 groups of people to Central America (southern Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras) to study the deeper cosmology of the Mayan Culture, their code.

I am an Herbalist, Intuitive, Reflexologist, and Integrative Chakra Therapy® Advanced Practitioner and Instructor. I am the owner of Sage Traditions, a wholistic integrative wellness practice based in Alberta, Canada, where I blend Integrative Chakra Therapy®, intuitive herbalism, and reflexology, alongside offering educational training and workshops.
My work is rooted in supporting individuals in their healing journey while fostering a deeper awareness of the interconnected nature of wellness—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Over the years, I have studied a range of spiritual, natural, and complementary health modalities, including training through Wild Rose College of Herbal Medicine and Light News Institute with Dr. Richard Jelusich. I bring many years of experience facilitating healing sessions, teaching both adults and children, and leading women’s groups, retreats, and support circles.
By integrating diverse training with my own lived experience of a deep and ongoing healing journey, I offer a grounded and intuitive perspective. I support clients in healing, wellness, and recovery, provide training for those on educational paths, and offer mentorship for individuals exploring their spiritual development.
I offer private intuitive Integrative Chakra Therapy® sessions, herbal consultations, workshops, training, and mentorship, both in person and online via Zoom.
I can be found around Light News Institute online, where I co-host the regular Monday Night Chakra Healing & Discourse and various ICT student and graduate meetups as well as at a variety of online workshops and in person workshops in the Calgary area, often supporting Dr. Jelusich in his work.
Hello, I’m Deirdre. I am a holistic practitioner and Integrative Chakra Therapy® Instructor, dedicated to supporting individuals in reconnecting with their inner wisdom and restoring balance in mind, body, and spirit.
In my work, I integrate Reiki, Integrative Chakra Therapy®, and Clinical Hypnotherapy to support emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and overall mental well-being. I offer a calm, supportive space where we can gently explore stress patterns, trauma responses, and limiting beliefs while building resilience, clarity, and a renewed sense of inner stability.
Many people come to see me during times of loss, illness, healing, or significant life transition. I also support individuals navigating cancer care and recovery, offering gentle support for emotional resilience, body trust, and inner steadiness during and after treatment. Others are navigating emotional trauma, health challenges, burnout, or periods of deep change and uncertainty. Together, we work at a pace that honours your experience and supports meaningful, lasting change.
My training includes studies with Mayan Master Teacher Shaman Miguel Angel Vergara and Dr.Richard Jelusich of the California Institute for Human Science, which continue to inform my grounded and integrative approach.

I specialize in all things love, sex, and relationships. I have no greater passion than helping people to achieve their dreams and have the relationships they dream of.
When working with clients, my approach is warm and accepting, but focused. I am unshockable and I assure you that what you have to share with me will be met without judgment.
I am the Co-Founder of Bamboo Garden Wellness Center and I also serve as research faculty at the California Institute for Human Science Graduate School and Research Center in Encinitas, California. My research focuses on gender studies, human sexuality, and sexual healing.
