Mothers Day

In my youth, I was raised as a Catholic and later when I’m married my first wife I became a Southern Baptist and not long thereafter I went to a church gathering on Mother’s Day.

The pastor made sure that every mother there in attendance received a beautiful single red rose as a symbol of that respect and reverence for her mother really is.  There was a special ceremony just to celebrate and honor the mothers!

If you’re not a mother or you are a male imagine what it’s like to hold that life within you for nine months.  Being a male myself it’s difficult for me to imagine the preciousness of that gift although when my wife was pregnant that during the pregnancy she didn’t always think it was such a gift!

But, to hold that life within you that you know that you’re gonna bring forth a beautiful sacred boy or girl this life is nothing short of amazing. Imagine that feeling of protectiveness you have as a mother for your child! And you know that love and that protectiveness really ends

. I can tell you back when I was driving my car to an event years ago my mom who at that time was 97 was chatting with me on the phone as I drove period now mind you, I called my mother every day sometimes twice a day and no matter whether I was at home in San Diego or in Tokyo or in Canada it didn’t matter.

So anyway, here I am driving my car and my mother says, “Do you have very far to go?”  And I responded, that yes, I had about 12 miles left to go.  And she said “Oh honey, that’s just so far be really careful!”  And I responded, “Mom I’m 62 years old!”

You see, it didn’t matter how old that I was or how old your children are if you’re the mother, you’re always gonna be looking after your children no matter their age. That love is not related to how many years old you are as her child.

That’s why it’s really important for us to not lose sight of the fact that our mothers, no matter how old we are, are always thinking about us and looking after us! So every Mother’s Day please make a special effort to honor the mothers who are in your life whether they are your mother, your grandmother, your daughters and so on.

You can return that love that your mother so selflessly gave to you through the years of your upbringing and even going into your adulthood.

If you’ve read any of my writings, you know a little bit about the sacred feminine that we’re living in this golden age of inner transformation where we’re learning how to use the tools at the heart.

So go into that beautiful heart space of yourself and take the time to honor your mother to celebrate that she is your mother and to do something that demonstrates your love for her
