Momentum is simply described as how once an object starts moving it becomes even more difficult to stop when it becomes larger and faster. In fact, once that object is moving it is possible that it may not take a lot of effort to keep that momentum going.
To cut to the chase, let’s say you want to develop momentum about something, whether it’s business, academics, relationships, or personal spiritual growth, it is always best to feel the goal that you have fixed firmly within yourself as a force that is pulling you forward rather than thinking you must always push against something to achieve your goal.
I know that it can seem easy for any kind of wrench that can be thrown into the gears of the works that is propelling the momentum that sometimes you can feel you’ve been brought to a screeching stop. And yet just a little bit of pull towards your goal again will start that momentum moving and becomes even more powerful the more you allow the goal to pull you forward.
The famous anthropologist, Austrian esotericist Rudolf Steiner, would speak about how trees that grow in the forest would have a system of roots that were enabling the tree itself to push upward away from the earth towards the sky.
But what if instead there was some kind of force that was pulling the trees upward towards the sky and the roots were simply there to hold the tree down and to anchor it in place on the earth?
What if our most powerful spacecraft, instead of being propelled upwards by hot exhaust gases pushing the craft upwards towards the heavens were instead pulled to some star or planet?
Humanity is entering an age that some have called the feminine principle, which is using the power of the will to allow yourself to be pulled forward rather than the masculine principle which is more about assertion, manifestation and pushing your way forward.
This is an age where we are actually yielding to the spiritual presence within ourselves that has always existed and one of the things I often tell my students, is the most gentle turn of your cheek can yield the greatest results.
By that, I mean it is often the littlest movement of our will being pulled in the direction of our spiritual unfolding that can yield ever greater momentum, providing a very rapid and abundant unfolding of real spiritual growth.
What is the object of your momentum? What things in life are you allowing yourself to be pulled forward by?
