As I write this, today is November 15, 2024, a full “super moon” (when the moon is closest to earth). Why attend full moon meditations?
People have been meditating on the full moon for millennia. I have been holding full moon meditations since 1992, with some groups of over 100 in attendance! The full moon definitely has an impact on our emotional and behavioral condition, so I make use of this powerful monthly event to hold a guided imagery meditation. My meditations are held in person and online simultaneously through ZOOM, so all can attend no matter where you live.
The moon affects the tides on our Earth, but also the waters of our body (the body is over 70% water) and as I said, our behaviors. In fact, all life on Earth is affected by the different phases of the moon. The moon is a consciousness in the same way that our Mother Earth (Gaia) is a consciousness. We are encouraged to start something new (like planting) when the moon is new, and to complete endeavors when the moon is full (I had a girlfriend who is a essential oil master, and would harvest certain plants at specific times when the moon was full).
When we meditate on the moon or Mother Earth or nature, we are nesting ourselves in the natural harmonic rhythms and cycles of all nature. This is so very important to be in balance with nature, as we are so surrounded and inundated by the cacophony of artificial light and technology.
During the three days when the moon is full, the police precincts and the hospitals are the busiest. Because of the advent of artificial light, women’s cycles have not been regular. It is said that when a woman walks for ten minutes a night for three nights under the full moon, her cycle will return to a regular rhythm, balanced with nature.
Gathering together for a full moon mediation, attendees (whether in person or remote) are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and to wear headphones if possible to increase focus (I often use special instrumental music using binaural beats by world expert in psychoacoustics, Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, to help induce a meditative state of consciousness).
Each full moon meditation is different, depending on the moon, astrology and group soul in attendance.
The instrumental music sets the stage. I’ll tune in to group consciousness, doing guided imagery to the transportive music. The words that I choose during guided imagery come from the soul group level of the attendees. So every full moon meditation is different, focusing on the group consciousness. The guided imagery weaves a tapestry of the music and subtle energies, creating a soothing, transportive, transformative journey of about 25 minutes.
There is much power in gathering together for unanimity of purpose. The Maharishi effect occurs when the group consciousness is in that unanimity and the sutble energy effect in consciousness is exponential. n the full blog). “This phenomenon was first noticed in 1974 and reported in a paper published in 1976. Here, the finding was that when 1% of a community practiced the Transcendental Meditation (TM®) program, the crime rate was reduced by 16% on average. At this time, the phenomenon was named the Maharishi Effect.” https://research.miu.edu/maharishi-effect/
The same is true when groups meditate for a common purpose: peace, love, compassion, etc. This is one of the powerful effects of full moon meditation. All who are in attendance receive the intensity of the love and community of meditation, serving to further help self-empowerment and self-realization.
Because of that group soul level at such gatherings, I have also been offering “messages from spirit” after the meditation, which are short messages to each attendee with the focus on self-empowerment. These messages are always uplifting and supportive and have become very popular.
It’s amazing, as attendees often hear from their message exactly what they came for, on some deeper level of their being. And in listening to the other messages from spirit, often harvest cool information they might not have heard otherwise due to the group soul unanimity of purpose!
You can follow either link below to find the next full moon meditation. They are free to attend, and you are invited to donate to support the Light News Institute and Bamboo Garden Wellness Center if you wish.
