Purity and Love

Richard JelusichBlog

In my over 30 years of doing thousands of spiritual consultations I have found that each chakra possesses its own unique qualities that affect the way that we perceive and thus respond to reality. In particular when working with the heart chakra whose foundation is love itself, I found that the words purity and love were completely interchangeable.
In fact, there is a biblical phrase that captures quite nicely this inner profundity. Romans 8:26 states: “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Bible Gateway.
I take that to mean that the quality of purity and love that has always existed within us is so profound that even though we are spirits beyond time and space that we have difficulty to express the fullness of that purity and love. That is, love itself cannot be quantified as it comes from beyond the realms of time and space.
But because we exist within time and space it can be very very difficult to express its fullness. Often, we choose ways of externalizing that purity/love through various forms of communication, such as music, art, architecture, math, poetry, sculpture and so on.
In your life, have you often endeavored to express the profundity of the purity and love in your heart chakra? Have you found ways to communicate that fullness in what you do or in your service to others?
There are parts in my book Eye of the Lotus; Psychology of the Chakras that speak about how our egoic structure can create fears because the mind cannot do what a chakra can do. Our physical minds are limited in time and space, but our chakras are beyond time and space and are the conduits to our higher states of being.
In the sense of the heart chakra, that fear would be that we are not pure. When in fact, we do come from source and therefore the center of our being is pureness itself or the fullness of what love is.
Even the Sanskrit word for the heart chakra “Anahata” means, “uncharted” or “unbounded.”
It is very normal for us to think of ourselves as “impure.” This is the egoic mind attempting to comprehend the magnificence of our true being as spirits with a physical component. It would be more accurate to think of our true selves has the purity that already has always and forever existed within us, and all we are doing in our physical existence is coming to the point of the admission of that purity but not whether it’s pure.
To delve into the layers of illusion and dissolve them is the spiritual juice. The work that we do to lead harmless and compassionate lives, service to others and continue to awaken our spiritual nature is merging that purity into our egoic structure and letting go of the falsehoods that cause so much unnecessary suffering.
Accept and acknowledge the purity and love in your heart that are already you.
Blessings,
