Many years ago, in 1992, I had flown to Fairfield Iowa to be with a wonderful spiritual teacher by the name of Drunvalo Melchizedek for a week long journey into sacred geometries, the Merkaba, spherical breathing and the study of our true metaphysical nature.
I took over 51 pages of notes that I still have and shared as much of this man’s wisdom and teachings as I possibly could through a monthly newsletter that I was publishing at the time. He truly came from the heart!
We would do group meditations and ceremony as part of the week’s learning. In one event, we did a Sufi ceremony that I have continued doing with my many students since over these past years.
Standing in a circle, we would pair off, facing each other and putting our left hand on each other’s heart area. We would stand silently for a few moments, just looking into each other’s eyes. Then in unison we would sing the following: “You are my Beloved. I open my heart to you.”
For the next few moments we would only convey the power of our heart’s love for each other by looking into each other’s eyes! After a few very powerful moments, we would slowly detach and move to the next person in the circle, stand and regard each other, and begin again.
We continued to pair off until we had done maybe four or five of these heart connections. The Power of this way of expressing the love we have in our hearts was very moving. Some people were in tears from the profound feeling of love, expressed only with the eyes!
Time and again when I would hold this Sacred Heart connection ceremony for my students. There were always these profound reactions of how much love could be conveyed simply by looking into each other’s eyes. How do you feel when someone truly really looks at you with love in their eyes?
We often do not realize the power of Love. Love is infinite and eternal and does not come from this dimension. Although we try very hard to express the fullness of love it is one of those things that we always endeavor to express and hopefully to receive as best we can.
As Paramahansa Yogananda said: “Love is the most powerful weapon in the universe!” is not just for each other but for ourselves. The pure heart knows no bounds and altruistic love is so very much what is needed today. Feel the boundless nature of the love that you have in your heart. It is because you are a singular expression of the divine presence in all things in creation and that which is beyond creation.
How much love do you have to give and receive? It starts with an open heart and the power of your will to express it fully and completely through all that you are, think, and do.
