Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy Lunar New Year, the Year of the Wood Snake! Like western astrology, Chinese astrology has to do with the cosmic and planetary effects on our well-being and progress through life. As you know everything is frequency, energy, and vibration. And therefore the cosmic influences of various alignments and configurations do have an effect on you and I. The Chinese cycle consists of 12 different signs and elements of which this year we are going into the year of the wood snake.

As for astrology, imagine that you and I are very much like a living acupuncture needle, that when we incarnate on this planet, we’re a living point of consciousness, established in space-time and at that time what are in the precise coordinates of all the cosmic and planetary bodies that are configured around Earth. I suppose this is why an astrologer really doesn’t need to know your name; they just really need to know where and when you were born!

As Edgar Casey once said, the planets are our masters until we become masters of ourselves (I paraphrase). So, beyond fireworks and the displays of dancing dragons there really is truth to these astrological signs and every year is under the influence of one of these sides, that is not unlike how we are in the sign of Pisces and we’ll soon be entering the sign of Aquarius and thus under the effects of those alignments with those particular constellations.
This is a year to really trust your instincts and to take events one step at a time.. The year of the snake is also interesting to me because in so many ancient cultures the snake image had nothing to do with the reptile; it had more to do with inner wisdom. That is wisdom that is not just obtained by external experience but by internal insights. In the land of the Mayans, the word for snake is “Kan” as in Cancun. Kan means wisdom. Ever been to Cancun? It means the gathering place of the wise ones!

Further, in MANY ancient cultures, the snake is depicted as a circle, consuming its own tail. This is called the ouroboros and is a representation of infinity, or the chakras – doorways to infinite wisdom and higher levels of awareness beyond five sense perception intellect!

It is also really super important that as there is much change going on as you could very easily see it’s also a time to make sure that you’re embracing the change at your own pace. That is use the power of your will to capture the moment fully and completely and to remember that you are in charge of your choices and your responses.

This year, take the time for reflection, for introspection. And to simplify as much as possible your life. This year is entirely about really trusting your inner knowing and trusting your inner timing rather than simply being affected by outward distractions. It’s also a time to make sure that your home and work life your habits and your inner intuition reflect your highest path forward.

Take an intuitive look at your future self and step into that moment by moment going forward this year.

Blessings,
