Many years ago, I worked for my father who owned a shipyard here in San Diego. I was the machine shop foreman and had many other duties, as well. I used to run the crane which was a 19-1/2 ton cable rigging 40-foot boom crane. With practice I became very adept, becoming one with this crane in all of its methods lifting and moving very heavy propellers and shafts and other types of marine equipment in the shipyard.
I remember how this powerful machine could lift such great weights and yet I was able to lift or lower something so gently with mere fractions of an inch at a time. To master this crane requires the use of all four of my limbs; one on the gas, one on the brake, one on the lifting lever, and my right hand on the drum that held the cable so I could feel how much of that cable was being played out or brought in; sometimes in mere fractions of an inch in order to lift something out or to set it in place with great accuracy.
That type of ability was a recognition of the command I had over the operation of this machine and yet the ability as well to be extremely gentle and the use of that power. It came to me so fully and easily.
It is much the same in the Wellness community when seeking a qualified practitioner in Integral Health that they have mastered their particular field and yet within that mastery they have also achieved the ability to be incredibly precise and gentle.
That is why Dr. Michelle Dexter and I started the Bamboo Garden Wellness Center in Encinitas in 2002 and have created a family of Wellness professionals that embody this amazing balance.
You see it is one thing to master a particular field of endeavor it is another thing to be able to have a command of the way that that art form is administered or articulated.
This spring, we leap forth towards our fourth year of our Wellness Center and have created a very beautiful Oasis of healing and education and a family of like-minded practitioners who embody the vision and mission of what Bamboo Garden represents.
Our core mission is for the self-empowerment of the individual through the emphasis of the teachings of Integral Health which is mind, body, and spirit. Every one of our practitioners in that mastering of being powerful and gentle is always seeking the same core principle for the people who come to us seeking health and full wellness.
This Spring, continue to awaken the power within you and to recognize that you can articulate it in the most loving and gentle way. To aid you on your journey, our practitioner are here to facilitate that powerful inner growth!
Blessings,
Dr. Richard Jelusich, Ph.D.
