In my 35 years of spiritual counseling, practicing and teaching energy medicine I’ve read how many of the great spiritual Saints would speak of avoiding comparing ourselves to others. It’s a little bit paradoxical because we are each meant to awaken to our highest inner potential and yet so many times when we see someone else thriving and we admire that it instills in us a vigor to do even better.
I like to think of it as though each of us are a different type of flower. That even from a seed or a bulb we are always that flower and yet forever are we blooming and unfolding our pedals, over and over again to face the spiritual son of our highest and greatest unfolding. That which we are meant to be.
Even so when we are inspired by the example that someone in our life has set for themselves it causes us to reflect within ourselves how we may be even better even more awakened. And I think we know that awakening spiritually is a process, and ongoing endeavor in our lives.
Recently I was the officiant at the celebration of life for one of my dear graduates of Integrative Chakra Therapy® energy medicine. He was such an accomplished person and had done so many things that would seem like he had done 9 lifetimes worth of events in a single lifetime!
And what an example he set! When the video montage was playing, you could deal of the attendees looking at all of these various accomplishments that this single man had both experienced but also took the tenacity and the ambition to accomplish for himself. That in itself set an amazing example of his leadership and taking command of his life in the exposition of that many things that he wanted to do both in his various accomplishments and the various charities that he led.
When I had the opportunity to offer my welcoming remarks, I also was looking at the people in attendance and the people who were also attending online for this huge celebration of life. And I said to them that the only way that you can really help others is to continue to evolve yourself. That within us that is the spirit of our being is eternal and is always guiding on a subtle level how we may continue to bloom like the beautiful beings that we are.
And that blooming as I said before is ever evolving and self-unfolding. The wonderful realized Yogi Paramahansa Yogananda said that as we increase our meditations and inner awakening, our subtle energy vibrations go out to the entire universe. So, if you are leading by example there is the truth of your spirit that is also radiating itself throughout all creation. And since everyone is intuitive by nature, we all pick up on that energetically.
This in my many years of spiritual consultations is exactly how you can help others. Lead a moral and ethical life but also awaken yourself spiritually and by that subtle energy example you are helping countless people even if you’re not consciously aware of it. Think of yourself as that beautiful flower that I mentioned and that by your blooming you are thus revealing that beauty to anyone that cares to notice.
And even in the constellation of your relationships, people do notice if not consciously been on a very deep spiritual level because of our connectedness to each other that is truly seamless.
Always start within and recognize that your true inner awareness is the spiritual power that leads by example. And if you truly, truly wish to help all of creation then continue to evolve yourself spiritually and surrender to the truth of your highest and greatest being beyond a mental construct but into the incredible hearts embrace that passes understanding into higher levels of awareness that cannot be comprehended only with five sense perception intellect.
